American School Launches Media Page

You may have noticed the American School Media link in the upper right corner of our home page.  Previously this was called American School Video, but today we had to change its name because it doesn't contain just video anymore.  Yes, you'll still be able to access the five-minute video that lets you see and hear American School administrators and students in action, but from the new American School Media page, you'll also be able to access our recent radio broadcast that was recorded last month.  We hope you enjoy this new media page, and we look forward to adding more media appearances to it in the coming months.

Method Test Prep Monday

It's Monday, but there's no need to be depressed.  As we sometimes do on the first day of the week, today we'll remind you that the American School has partnered with Method Test Prep to offer self-paced and teacher-led ACT and SAT prep courses.  These courses include the latest topics and study methods, and whether or not you choose to take them is entirely up to you.  They don't count toward the number of credits you need to earn in order to get your American School diploma, but they may help you to better on the standardized tests needed for college admission.  Visit our ACT-SAT Prep page for all the details.

American School Celebrates Digital Learning Day

Today is Digital Learning Day, which is a great occasion for us to remind you of the many online learning offerings that the American School now has.  For more than a century of our existence, the American School has a strictly correspondence school, but that has changed dramatically in recent years.  We now have online courses and offer online exams in select paper-based courses so that students can study the way they choose and potentially receive quicker feedback on their graded exams.  Soon we will be making a major announcement regarding the future of our online learning offerings.  Stay tuned!

Today’s Birthday: Facebook

It's February 4, and Facebook turns 10 years old today.  In the past decade, Facebook has become a place for individuals to connect with old and new friends as well as a place for businesses or organizations to share news and information with their consumers.  The American School's Facebook page has more than 2000 likes and growing, and we are grateful for all of them.  The people who like our page often are the first ones to know the latest news at the American School, such as changing our business hours like we did yesterday, the release of new online learning offerings, and our convention schedule, which we'll start unveiling later this week.  If you haven't liked us on Facebook yet, today would be a great day to do just that!
