American School to Attend ISCA Conference in Springfield

The American School will be an exhibitor at the Illinois School Counselor Association Annual Conference on April 11 at the Hilton Springfield.  Those attending the convention are invited to visit the American School’s booth from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to learn more about the us and the educational services we provide to students and schools.  We always enjoy meeting counselors but especially those who work in our home state of Illinois.  Attending this conference and its sister event in two weeks gives us the chance to fortify existing relationships and build new ones.  We look forward to seeing many school counselors in Springfield!

Today’s Special Occasion: 4-4

It's April 4, which is commonly abbreviated 4-4.  The number 4 has real significance here at the American School.  As you know, we offer 4 years of high school in grades 9-12.  We offer English 4: Composition and Grammar, English 4 (online), Literature 4: Selected English Classics among our numerous paper-based and online courses.  We also do our best to ensure that students have an opportunity to obtain a perfect 4.0 grade point average and are equipped to succeed in whatever their post-high school plans might be.  We do that primarily through our 4 C's of Curriculum, Cost, Caring Student Service and Credibility.  If you are ready to begin your accredited high school diploma program, you can enroll today.  We would "4" sure love to have you as our student!

Gamelin Siblings Compete in U.S. Figure Skating Championships

Ice dancing was a popular sport at the recent Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.  An American team, Meryl Davis and Charlie White, won the United States's first gold medal in this sport, and two of their competitors at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Boston were American School graduates.  Alexander Gamelin and his sister Danielle both graduated from the American School in 2013 and have been competing in ice dancing for several years.  We're proud of their academic and athletic achievements and will feature them in an upcoming All American newsletter.  In the meantime, enjoy this video which shows their free dance at this year's U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
