American School Debuts New Physical Science Course

Earlier this week our blog talked about an updated General Science course that is now available, but today we're upping the ante with the release of a brand new paper-based Physical Science course.  Students will study matter and energy and learn a bit about chemistry and physics along the way.  We're excited to add this new version of Physical Science to our extensive list of accredited high school courses.  It's one of the many ways we help students earn a high school diploma at home, either in our general high school or college preparatory program or through our independent study high school program.  If you want to earn yours, enroll today.

American School to Attend ISCA Conference

American School is pleased to exhibit at the ISCA Conference on Friday, April 29, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.  We're looking forward to meeting school counselors from Chicagoland and telling them about our independent study high school courses.  These individual online high school courses or high school correspondence courses are perfect for their students who may need to recover credits or who may have scheduling conflicts or want to take our accredited high school courses for enrichment.  We'll be there from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and if you're a school counselor, we hope you'll join us!

Today’s Special Occasion: Administrative Professionals’ Day

Today is Administrative Professionals' Day.  We spend a fair amount of time in this blog talking about the instructors who will grade your exams and offer feedback while you earn a high school diploma at home, but our instructors aren't the only employees who help you with your accredited high school program.  Our administrative professionals are the unsung heroes who do a milliion different tasks every day so that your distance education high school or middle school experience can be as good as possible.  Thank you to all of our administrative professionals.  We wouldn't be able to be the distance education school that we are without them!

American School to Attend OCHEC Convention

American School to Attend Midwest Parent Educator Conference

American School is back on the road this week, and we're excited to be making our first visit to the Midwest Parent Educator Conference in Kansas City, Missouri.  Join us in booth 812 at the KCI Expo Center on Friday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to learn more about our accredited high school courses and middle school courses.  We offer accredited online high school courses and high school correspondence courses for enrichment purposes, and if guests at the MPE Conference want a full accredited high school program that would allow them or their children to earn a high school diploma at home, we can offer them that as well.  We'll even bring some information about our brand new middle school program, and of course we'll have plenty of our convention freebies on hand.  Make plans to join us in Kansas City, and make plans to read our next blog, which will post on Monday.

Today’s Special Occasion: Patriots’ Day

It's the third Monday in April, and our friends in New England are celebrating Patriots' Day.  The most famous Patriots' Day event is the Boston Marathon, and while we continue to remember the events of the 2013 Boston Marathon, we'd like to share with you some ways in which earning a high school diploma online for adults or teens or earning a correspondence high school diploma for adults or teens is like running a marathon.  You may think that running 26.2 miles or earning 18 units of credit to complete your high school diploma program is a daunting task.  In some ways you're correct, but runners and our students go at a pace that is entirely their own.  Runners have a support system of family and friends and people who will give them water along the race route.  As our student, you'll have the support of our instructors and student service staff every step of the way.  Finally, marathon runners may get a medal or trophy, but you'll get something even more valuable: a high school diploma adults or teens can use to propel themselves to a better life.  Take the first step and enroll today.

Testimonial Thursday

It's a Thursday, so let's hear a testimonial from one of our students.  Devin from Washington writes, "The comments I received from my instructors were really encouraging.  Even when I didn’t receive my best grade on an exam, the instructors still helped in motivating me to continue trying my best."  We thank Devin for those words and are happy to offer Devin and the rest of the students in our accredited middle school program and accredited high school program that level of caring student service.  It's something that sets us apart from other distance education schools and is one reason why you should take accredited middle school courses and accredited high school courses with us.  Enroll today and let us educate you in grades 6-8 or help you earn a high school diploma at home!
