NACAC National College Fair in Chicago This Saturday

The NACAC National College Fair will take place on Saturday, October 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at McCormick Place Hall C1-North Building in Chicago.  Students who are working toward an online high school diploma or correspondence high school diploma and who live in Chicagoland should consider attending this event.  Representatives from colleges and universities from around the country will be there, and you may find that the perfect place for you to continue your education is a school you hadn't previously considered.  Whether you attend this event or not, our school counselor can assist you with the college admissions process.  All of us want to see you succeed after you earn a high school diploma at home with us, and we'll do everything we can to make that possible.

Today’s Special Occasion: National Coffee Day

It's September 29, and today is National Coffee Day.  If you want to know what's brewing at American School, we have a variety of ways of informing you.  This blog is one of them.  We also post regularly on Facebook and Twitter.  Finally, we have our All American newsletter which comes out a few times a year and is sent to students and posted elsewhere on this web site.  In coming months you'll want to check out all of those places because we'll be adding more online high school courses and more online middle school courses to better serve our students.  The enrollment process is simple enough that you can complete it during a coffee break, so sign up today!

Today’s Special Occasion: Ask a Stupid Question Day

American School Resumes Phone Calls to Prospective Students

American School is pleased to announce the return of phone calls to prospective students.  These students are interested in our online high school courses or high school correspondence courses and indicate they would like a call from us when they fill out a form to request more information or view an enrollment application.  We are happy to talk with them or their parents and tell them more about our general high school program, college preparatory program, independent study high school and more.  Please note that only prospective students should fill out these forms and request an initial call from us.  If you are a past or present student, you do not need to fill out these forms or request a call.  You can contact us through the email addresses listed on our web site and in the online student center.  Thank you for allowing us to be of service to you!

Caroline Wozniacki Wins First Title of 2016

American School student Caroline Wozniacki won her first title of 2016 by defeating Naomi Osaka 7-5, 6-3 in the final of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.  Click here to watch a post-match interview with her.  We are happy to have Caroline as our student, but we're also happy to have as our students those who are striving to be champions in areas outside of athletics.  All of our students want to earn a high school diploma at home, and we help our students do that by offering a correspondence high school diploma and an online high school diploma.  We also have an accredited middle school program consisting of online middle school courses that children in grades 6-8 can take to prepare them for high school.  We look forward to helping you have great success in life, but we can only do so after you become our student.  Take the first step and enroll today!

Revised Introduction to Business Course Available

This week American School released a revised Introduction to Business course.  The course is available individually as part of an independent study high school program or may be taken as part of a general high school or college preparatory program en route to an American School diploma.  We're pleased to offer elective courses such as Introduction to Business as part of our paper-based and online high school courses, and would be happy to have you as our student!

Today’s Special Occasion: The First Day of Fall

It's September 22, and today is the first day of fall.  There's something about the first day of fall that makes people think of going back to school even though students in traditional schools have been in the classroom for at least two weeks now.  The nice thing about American School is that you can enroll anytime and graduate anytime.  We accept enrollmetns in our accredited high school program and accredited middle school program every day of the year.  We also graduate or promote students every day of the year, meaning there is no delay in moving on to your next educational challenge if you finish a year's worth of work early.  We have a vast array of high school correspondence courses, online high school coruses and online middle school courses waiting for you, and we'll be adding more courses shortly.  Don't "fall" behind in your studies.  Enroll with us today!

Today’s Special Occasion: International Day of Peace

It's September 21, and today is the International Day of Peace.  It's a good chance to remind you that students from more than 65 countries around the world take part in our accredited high school program.  Some take the best online high school courses while others do our high school correspondence courses, but all benefit from outstanding curriculum and caring student service.  If you live overseas, there are special enrollment applications you can use to complete the enrollment process.  No matter where you live, we look forward to having you as our student!

Today’s Anniversary: The Gas-Powered Automobile

It's September 20, and on this date in 1893, Charles Duryea and his brother tested the first American-made gasoline-powered automobile.  This anniversary seems like the perfect time to remind you that we have two car-themed courses that you can take to help earn a high school diploma at home.  Know Your Car is designed for students who would like to acquire basic knowledge of automobiles, while Automotive Systems is designed for students who already have basic knowledge of cars and would like to learn more specific information about how they work.  We're happy to be a distance education high school that offers these courses.  They are indicative of the wide variety of accredited high school courses we've offered for more than a century.  In fact, we made our debut just four years after the American-made gasoline-powered automobile did.  Get yourself in gear and enroll with us today.  You'll be on the road to your diploma in no time!

Today’s Anniversary: The Mary Tyler Moore Show

It's September 19, and The Mary Tyler Moore Show premiered on television on this date in 1970.  We realize this show is probably before your time, but it can be seen in reruns to this very day.  What's important for this blog is the last line of The Mary Tyler Moore Show's theme song, which is "You might just make it after all.".  Many times people come to us to earn a high school diploma at home because things haven't worked out for them at their current or past school.  They feel hopeless because without a high school diploma adults can have difficult lives.  That's where we come in.  We offer a high school diploma online for adults and children to complement our correspondence high school diploma for adults and children.  Students receive academic and financial credit for work completed at accredited schools they previously attended, and it is possible that, even if you've been out of school for many years, you can earn your diploma by completing as little as 4.5 units of credit and paying as little as $900.  You'll do more than "might just make it after all" when you become our student.  You WILL just make it after all.  Enroll today!
