Australian Open First Round Update

Two American School students are competing in the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne, but Anna Tatishvili and Caroline Wozniacki had different results in their first round matches.  Anna lost to Jaimee Fourlis of Australia, 6-4, 6-3, while Caroline, who is seeded 17th, defeated Arina Rodionova, 6-1, 6-2.  We'll have updates on Caroline's progress as the tournament rolls along, but it's no wonder why we're a popular choice among tennis players and have been for decades.  When students decide to earn a high school diploma at home with us, they actually can earn a high school diploma at home or on the road.  That's because they can work on our online high school courses and high school correspondence courses anywhere in the world.  Enroll today and get that benefit and many others after you become our student!

Today’s Special Occasion: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

It's January 16, and today the United States is observing the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  As we've said many times before in this blog, one way to make history come alive while you take online high school courses, high school correspondence courses and online middle school courses is to visit museums, libraries or other historic sites.  If you're in Atlanta, you can visit the King Center to learn more about Dr. King.  If you can't make it to Atlanta, many people do service projects today to commemorate Dr. King's life, and you can learn more about these by visiting the United States Government's official site.

Today’s Anniversary: The State of New Mexico

It's January 6, and New Mexico became a state on this date in 1912.  One nickname for New Mexico is "Land of Enchantment" but we know that not every course we offer is everyone's cup of tea.  That's why we have a team of dedicated and qualified instructors to help you in your accredited high school program and accredited middle school program.  They all have experience and education in specific online high school courses, correspondence high school courses and online middle school courses, and their expertise will be a great benefit to you as you study particular subjects.  Our students are invited to call, email or write their instructors, and they can expect a reply as quickly as possible, often on the same day.  All of us pledge to do our best so that our students don't become disenchanted with us as they work to complete middle school or earn a high school diploma at home.

Today’s Anniversary: The Fair Deal

It's January 5, and on this date in 1949, President Harry Truman introduced his Fair Deal program.  Last year when we attended a convention in Kansas City, we had a chance to visit the Truman Library in Independence, Missouri, where visitors like us come from all around the country to learn more about President Truman and his programs such as the Fair Deal.  You'll get a different kind of fair deal after you enroll and become our student.  We offer the best online high school courses, high school correspondence courses and online middle school courses that we can find, but we do so at the most affordable cost possible.  Included in that affordable cost is caring student service and more than a century of credibility in distance education.  This is a fair deal that won't expire, so we look forward to having you or a family member as our student whenever you are ready to enroll.

Today’s Anniversary: The State of Utah

It's January 4, and on this date in 1896, Utah became a state.  We've been on a run of state anniversaries lately, but these occasions are great reminders that we have students in all 50 states and more than 65 countries around the world.  We have participated in a homeschool convention in Utah in the past, and we always enjoy telling people about our high school correspondence courses, online high school courses and online middle school courses no matter where they live.  We have big plans for 2017, and you'll be able to be a part of them if you enroll today!
