Update on FAFSA

Some of our students have continued to have difficulty answering question 27 on the FAFSA form, so we contacted FAFSA and asked for some help.  We were told that students should be able to manually enter our name (American School or American School of Correspondence) and our address, phone number and other contact information if necessary and be able to proceed.  If you continue to have difficulty, please contact FAFSA directly for assistance.  Thank you.

Update on Payments

As of today, all payment options are available for new or current students.  We have upgraded our PayPal account, so you may once again pay via PayPal, or you can pay by credit card online or over the phone, or by check or money order through the mail.  We appreciate your patience and cooperation while we upgraded our system.  If you run into any difficulty, email us so that we can assist you as soon as we can.  Thank you.

Scholarship Information Coming Soon

American School is pleased to announce that information on this year's Scholarship Program will be available soon.  We expect applications to be mailed to eligible students in early April.  From there, students will have approximately 4-6 weeks to return completed applications to us.  We'll look at all returned applications and from them choose 30 finalists.  Our Scholarship Committee will meet in late June to determine this year's winners.  We are proud to have so many deserving graduates and look forward to hearing from many of them in the coming weeks.

PayPal No Longer Payment Option

American School is not currently accepting PayPal as a payment option for new or current students.  If you wish to pay for a new enrollment or make a payment on an existing account, you have three options.  First, you may call us, and we'll take payment information over the phone.  Second, you may send us a check.  Third, you may pay online with a credit card.  If you have questions or concerns, contact us.  We'll reply as soon as we can.  Thank you for your understanding, and please know how much we enjoy have you as our student.

American School Blog on Spring Break

The American School Blog is taking a spring break tomorrow and Monday.  Check back on Tuesday for our latest blog post.  We wish all of you a great weekend!

American School to Attend NSBA Annual Conference

American School is proud to attend the NSBA Annual Conference this weekend in Denver.  School board members from across the country are expected to attend, and we're happy to share information about our online high school courses, high school correspondence courses and online middle school courses with them.  We'll be in booth 225 in the Colorado Convention Center on March 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on March 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  In addition to having enrollment applications and plenty of information available, we'll also have our fun promotional items in our booth.  All of us are dedicated to helping students reach new heights, and it starts this weekend in the Mile High City.  We hope to see you there!

American School FAFSA Code Information

If you're an American School student or graduate filling out a FAFSA form, you may be asked for our high school code.  That code is 07016272Y010000.  We know that's long and not particularly easy to remember, which is why we've added that information to our FAQ page.  That page contains answers to frequently asked questions from people who are interested in our online high school diploma program, correspondence high school diploma program and accredited middle school program which currently consists of online middle school courses.  We are grateful to all of our students and graduates and hope you will check our FAQ page if you have a question.

Today’s Special Occasion: The First Day of Spring

It's March 20, and today is the first day of spring.  Of all the seasons, spring is associated with new beginnings.  The weather is getting warmer, birds have begun chirping, and flowers are beginning to bloom.  If you need a new beginning for your education, there is no better day than today to enroll.  American School offers an online high school diploma program, a correspondence high school diploma program, an accredited middle school program, and individual courses for credit recovery or enrichment.  Let your potential blossom and make the first day of spring one to remember.  Become our student today!

Today’s Special Occasion: St. Patrick’s Day

It's March 17, and American School is celebrating St. Patrick's Day in a variety of ways.  First, did you know we offer a course in Irish?  It's one of more than 20 online high school courses in world languages that are part of our curriculum.  Irish would be a perfect addition to your online high school diploma program, or take the course for credit recovery or enrichment as part of an independent study high school program.  Since we are a non-profit school, we're able to save you some green as well.  We keep costs to an absolute minimum.  Most individual high school correspondence courses or online courses cost between $150 and $300 when taken individually, and a online high school diploma program or correspondence high school diploma program costs between $2250 and $3600.  You don't need the luck of the Irish to be our student.  Enroll today!

Today’s Special Occasion: The NCAA Tournament

It's March 16, and today the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament begins in earnest.  From time to time people will ask us if our accredited high school courses are NCAA-approved, and sadly the answer is no.  More information is on our FAQ page.  That doesn't mean we're not trying to get NCAA approval for our online high school courses and high school correspondence courses.  It is our hope that a review of our accredited online high school courses and traditional paper-based high school courses will result in NCAA approval, perhaps as early as 2018.  It is important to us to be able to serve all high school students who wish to go on and play sports at the college level, and we will work hard to make that a reality.
