2019 Convention #25: AkSCA Counselor Conference

Today's blog promotes the Alaska School Counselor Association Annual Conference at the Anchroage Marriott Downtown.  Normally a convention blog would promote our appearance at a convention, but since it's a loooooong way to fly to Alaska, we won't be at this one in person.  The AkSCA team, however, realizes that American School can be a great resource for children who live in Alaska, and so they invited us to send materials and information to be displayed at an unmanned table.  We are grateful for this opportunity and are happy to serve students in Alaska.  Counselors can pick up information on Thursday, November 14, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday, November 15, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.  We will have information about our independent study high school program, accredited middle school program and accredited high school program.  Our full-year middle school and high school programs may be of particular use to students who live in remote areas and travel one hour or more each way to attend school, a trip that can be even longer in wintry weather.  Although we wish we could attend this convention in person, we hope many school counselors stop by our table and take information.  We'd be happy to help their students!
