The American School is, and has been accredited by the North Central association of Colleges and Schools since 1974. Accreditation by this regional body means that our academic programs have been thoroughly reviewed by a team of educators and found to meet the regional standards established by the Association.

The American School is recognized as a non-public secondary school by the Illinois State Board of Education, 100 N. First Street Springfield, IL 62777

AND TRANS-REGIONAL ACCREDITATION

  

The American School is accredited by The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA). CITA is a consortium of seven regional accrediting commissions which has established special educational standards and accreditation protocols applicable to schools worldwide, and works toward the development of academic freedom, peace and justice, and self-regulation among qualified educational institutions.
