Happy 40th Birthday, Sesame Street!

It's November 10, and on this date in 1969, Sesame Street aired for the very first time. In the 40 years that followed, millions of children grew up with the show and were both entertained and educated. They not laughed along with Bert and Ernie, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, Cookie Monster, Elmo and countless other lesser-known but still-beloved characters such as Guy Smiley, but they also learned the alphabet and numbers and values such as respect and teamwork. Even though the American School only offers high school courses, we value education at all levels. Shows like Sesame Street provide youngsters with a good educational foundation, and we are proud to build upon that educational foundation once students are ready for high school.
