Educational Director John McCulley Retires

John McCulley retired today after 16 years of service to the American School and its students. John first joined the American School as an instructor, where he graded students’ exams and played a prominent role in creating and writing revisions of the school’s World History and United States History courses. In 2002, he became principal, a position he kept until 2005, when he was promoted to educational director. He is also a trustee of the American School, a responsibility he will continue to hold even as he steps away from the day-to-day operations of the school. Prior to joining the American School, John was an instructor and principal in the Chicago Public Schools system for 33 years. Today American School President Gary Masterton, Trustees, members of the Executive Committee and the entire American School staff held a luncheon for John and his wife, daughter and grandchildren. All of us will miss working with John and wish him nothing but the best as he begins his retirement!
