It’s December 8, and newspaper headlines 81 years ago today recalled the horrifying events of December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Every year in this blog we recall Pearl Harbor and encourage you to visit the USS Arizona Memorial and other related sites if you are ever in Hawaii. It will be a moving experience for you and your family, and it is still possible that a survivor of the attack will be on site to greet you and share stories. If you cannot get to Hawaii, then we encourage you to find other historical sites closer to your home and to go visit them at your convenience. Historic sites are great places to make your homeschool courses or independent study courses come to life, and there are countless places to go across the country to enrich your middle school courses or high school courses. For now, however, we invite you to visit the links in this blog to learn more about Pearl Harbor and the sacrifices so many people made on that day. We are grateful for their service to our country.
