Today’s Anniversary: Walking Across the Grand Canyon

It's June 23, and on this date in 2013, Nik Wallenda became the first man to walk across the Grand Canyon on a tightrope.  We have had members of the Wallenda family and other circus peformers as our students over the years.  They appreciate the flexibility of being able to earn a high school diploma at home or on the road, when and where it's convenient for them.  All of our students have those benefits as well as the ability to choose how they study, either by earning a correspondence high school diploma or a diploma comprised of online high school courses.  No matter which course delivery method they choose, our students have the support of our entire staff.  We know that sometimes doing schoolwork can be as scary as walking on a tightrope across the Grand Canyon, but our staff is a safety net and ensure they reach their ultimate goal of finishing their high school diploma program.  If you want your diploma, take the first step and enroll today!

Today’s Special Occasion: The First Day of Summer

American School Holds 78th Scholarship Meeting

Yesterday American School held its 78th annual Scholarship Committee Meeting.  Permanent committee members and American School trustees Dr. John Kemp and Cher Tufly were joined by this year's guest committee member, David Smith, a former public school superintendent, to select this year's winners.  Eighteen American School graduates will receive a total of $21,000 in scholarships, and we'll profile them in the July-August All American newsletter.  These individuals wanted to earn a high school diploma at home and did just that by using our college preparatory program or general high school diploma program.  Special thanks to our school counselor Amanda Giordano for coordinating this year's scholarship process.  Applications for our 2017 scholarships will be sent to eligible graduates early next year.

Today’s Anniversary: D-Day

It's June 6, the 72nd anniversary of D-Day, a turning point in World War 2.  While few things can top the heroic acts of the Allied forces on that day, you can have your own personal D-Day of sorts after you enroll and become our student.  The term "D-Day" has become synonymous with making an important decision that will have lasting impact.  Deciding to earn a high school diploma at home can be one of those occasions.  We invite you to be part of our high school diploma program or our new online middle school program.  You can even take individual online or paper-based courses to recover credits or enhance an existing homeschool program.  Whatever you choose, we are happy to be of service to you after you make us your distance education high school or middle school.

Today’s Anniversaries: Kentucky and Tennessee

It's June 1, and we're celebrating two statehood anniversaries today.  Kentucky became a state on this day in 1792, and Tennessee became a state on this day in 1796.  We are proud to have students in Kentucky and Tennessee and in all 50 states and more than 65 countries around the world.  Students enroll with us because of our outstanding high school diploma program.  It consists of 18 units of credit whether you want the general high school program or college preparatory program.   Both programs have room for electives, so you can personalize your program with online high school courses or high school correspondence courses in fields that matter to you.  We also offer individual courses in high school and middle school and full-year middle school programs if you wish to make us your distance education high school or middle school.  Whether you live in Kentucky or Tennessee or in one of the 48 other states or in a country halfway around the world, enroll today.  We would be happy to have you as our student.

Today’s Special Occasion: The National Spelling Bee

It's May 26, and the finals of the National Spelling Bee are being held tonight.  Preliminary rounds are taking place this morning, and the networks of ESPN will have coverage all day long.  If you watch any of the bee, you'll notice that the contestants can figure out how to spell complex words by asking for its part of speech, definition and language of origin.  Those same skills can be found in our Spelling course.  It's one of the many high school correspondence courses we have in our curriculum.  We also offer the best online high school courses and best online middle school courses, so whether you're looking for a high school diploma program, middle school program, or just want to take a single course, we have what you need.  We look forward to spelling your name correctly on your transcript after you enroll and become our student!

Today’s Special Occasion: The National Geographic Bee

It's May 25, and the championship round of the National Geographic Bee is being held today.  You can watch the final round Friday night on the National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo WILD or check your local PBS station for its scheduled rebroadcast.  If you watch the finals, you'll be amazed by how much these students know about geography.  You can start catching up to them by taking our paper-based World Geography course or our online Geography course.  They are among the many accredited high school courses you can take as part of your high school diploma program or individually through our independent study high school program or for personal enrichment.  Let us help map your future with the best online high school courses and best correspondence high school courses around.  Enroll today!
