It’s August 16, and the first issue of Sports Illustrated was published on this date in 1954. The magazine is published monthly these days, and inside every issue is a section called Faces in the Crowd in which amateur athletes from across the country are featured. In the September 9, 2013, issue American School student Garrett Smith was featured in the Faces in the Crowd. He scored 1690 points in six events at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and became the first three-time All-Around Cowboy in the event’s 65-year history. We are proud of Garrett but wish to say that once you enroll and become an American School student, you will be more than just a face in the crowd to us. That’s because we treat students in our accredited middle school program, accredited high school program and independent study high school program with personal care and attention. Our instructors call students by name on every exam they grade, and our staff members assist students as quickly as possible. Experience this kind of personal attention in distance education for yourself by enrolling with American School today!
