Today’s Anniversary: The Great Chicago Fire

It's October 10, and on this date in 1871, the Great Chicago Fire was finally extinguished after burning since the evening of October 8.  Nearly the whole city was destroyed, but at least two of the buildings that survived the fire are still standing on Michigan Avenue downtown.  In the 146 years since, the world has evolved in so many ways, set in many ways we remain powerless against natural disasters such as fires, hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes.  If you are taking our accredited high school courses or are a student in our accredited middle school program and have been affected by a natural disaster, please let us know.  We are ready to support you in every way we can.
