Today’s Birthday: Helen Keller

It's June 27, and Helen Keller was born on this date in 1880.  Helen contracted an illness as a child that left her deaf and blind, but with the help of her teacher, Annie Sullivan, she started her education and ultimately earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Radcliffe, which is often considered the sister school of Harvard.  We mention her birthday because she is a great example of overcoming long odds to acquire an education.  One can only imagine that there were many days when Helen's deafness and blindness made receiving an education difficult, but she stuck with it and eventually reached her goals and surpassed the expectations of many people in society.  These days, we know that many students have many different health issues that make it difficult for them to succeed in a tradtional school setting.  Taking online high school courses or high school correspondence courses with us allows students to work at their own pace and not be concerned about falling behind their classmates.  If you're not feeling well, there is no pressure to work that day.  If you're feeling well, you can take advantage of those days and do a little more.  All of us are compassionate toward students' health issues and will do our best to accommodate you.  Consider enrolling in our accredited high school program or accredited middle school program today and let us support you as you work toward meeting your educational goals.
