Today’s Special Occasion: World Health Day

It's April 7, and today is World Health Day.  Sponsored by the World Health Organization, World Health Day is a global health awareness day, and certainly on this World Health Day, we find ourselves more aware of global health than ever before.  American School would like to recognize the doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers who are doing their best to care for those suffering with COVID-19.  We also would like to recognize those individuals who, though not healthcare workers, perform other essential jobs and therefore cannot stay home.  These include employees of police and fire departments, supermarkets, gas stations and many other businesses and services.  All of us have a role to play in flattening the curve and suppressing this pandemic as quickly as possible.  Traditional schools might be closed in most states, but you can work on your accredited middle school program, accredited high school program or independent study high school program from anywhere you can practice safe social distancing.  Please be healthy, and if you see a healthcare worker or a member of other professions we've mentioned in this blog, be sure to thank him or her for the good work he or she is doing to keep everyone safe and healthy.
