American School student Anna Tatishvili competed in the women's singles event at the French Open in Paris. Although Anna lost a hotly-contested 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 match to American Alexa Glatch, she heads into Wimbledon, the Olympics and the U.S. Open later this summer as a player to watch. In addition, Anna upheld the long tradition of American School students and alumni participating in the French Open. Andre Agassi and Mary Pierce each won the tournament and made additional appearances in championship matches during the 1990s and 2000s. We hope Anna will do the same in the 2010s!
