It's December 4, and on this date in 1954, the first Burger King opened in Miami, Florida. Nearly 60 years later, the Home of the Whopper has locations all over the country and even some around the world. One of Burger King's slogans over the years was "Have It Your Way," and the American School shares that philosophy. While our students do follow a set of academic standards and have to take between 13 and 15 required courses among their 18 units of credit, there is ample room in the General High School Program or the College Preparatory Program for students to take electives that match their interests. While they study, students work entirely at their own pace. Classroom schools can't offer that luxury because students learn at different rates. After you become our student, you really can have it your way and study whenever and wherever it's convenient for you. Our students say that the ability to study at their own pace is what they like best about the American School, and after you become our student, we think you'll agree!
