Today’s Special Occasion: Boss’s Day

It's October 16, and today is Boss's Day.  Like any company, we have a hierarchy and several supervisors here, but we are not the boss when it comes to your education.  That's because we let students and their parents be in control.  They can pick the accredited online middle school courses or accredited high school courses online that are best for the student if the student wishes to study online, or pick the middle school and high school correspondence courses for the student if the student wishes to study on paper.  Moreover, students design their own study schedule and decide which subjects to study at which time.  Our online courses have pacing guides, but ultimately the student is the boss of how quickly he or she moves through a course.  Over the years we've asked hundreds of students what they like best about studying with us, and most of them say it's the ability to work at their own pace.  In other words, it's the ability to be their own boss, not falling behind in a classroom that's moving too quickly or not dragging their feet waiting for the classroom to catch up.  Be your own boss and enroll with us today!

Today’s Special Occasion: Giving Tuesday

Today is Giving Tuesday, a day set aside for giving back during the holiday season.  This blog will not ask for your money, but it will remind you that American School is a non-profit institution.  That means that we put students’ educations above everything, including financial gain.  We keep the cost of our accredited high school program and accredited middle school program to a minimum without sacrificing the quality of our accredited high school courses and accredited online middle school courses.  Give yourself or someone you know a great education by enrolling today!

Special Announcement for Our GradPoint Students

Today we have a special announcement for students taking our accredited online high school courses and accredited online middle school courses.  Yesterday we switched over to the 2.0 version of GradPoint.  The GradPoint platform has been upgraded to enhance your personalized learning experience, including new features for both students and teachers, and more intuitive navigation.  In order to make this switch, everybody needs to start using a slightly different web address when you go to log into your GradPoint account.

From now on, please go to the following website to log into your American School GradPoint account:

We strongly recommend that, if you haven't already, you create a bookmark for this website in your browser.  If you already have one, please update with this new address.  Because of the changes in appearance and the new features being added, all current students will now find a new course that has been added to your accounts: Learning in GradPoint 2.0.   We strongly recommend that all students take the time to go through the entire Learning in GradPoint 2.0 course so that you can familiarize yourselves with the new ways you will navigate your account.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know. You can reach us by email at or by phone at 708-418-2181.
