2018 Convention #16: ASCA Annual Conference

Yesterday we told you that we're going to two conventions this weekend.  One is in Arizona and the other is in Los Angeles.  We're heading to Hollywood for the American School Counselor Association Annual Conference.  School counselors are invited to stop by booth 307 at the Los Angeles Convention Center on July 14 from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.; July 15 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and July 16 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  In addition to learning more about our independent study programs for credit recovery and our accredited high school program for potential dropouts, counselors can also win a $100 Target gift card just for stopping by our booth and having us stamp their punchcards.  The ASCA Conference is perhaps the biggest and most successful event we attend all year.  We always enjoy meeting counselors from across the country, and we know this year will be no different.  Come join us!

American School at 120 (Part 5)

As we conclude our look at 120 years of American School history in advance of our 120th anniversary this coming Sunday, December 17, we can't help but thank the most important people in the last 12 decades–our students.  Whether they complete a general high school or college preparatory program or enroll in our correspondence or online high school diploma program or enroll in our independent study programs, we're happy to have them as our students.  We strive to offer the best educational experience possible, and we have exciting things planned as we head into our next decade.  Soon we'll have paper-based middle school courses, a new web site, and new academic programs.  We're proud of our past and ready for a bright future.  To be a part of one of the oldest and best distance learning schools, enroll today.  We'd be proud to have you as our student and prepare you for a bright future of your own.

Caroline Wozniacki Wins Biggest Title of Career

American School student Caroline Wozniacki captured the biggest title of her career with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Venus Williams in the championship match of the season-ending WTA Finals Singapore.  We are hopeful this win will serve as a springboard for success in 2018 and beyond, and you can count on this blog to keep you updated about Caroline's performance in the coming year.  In the meantime, there are several reasons for you to join Caroline as one of our students.  We offer an online high school diploma, a correspondence high school diploma, an accredited middle school program, and individual courses through independent study programs.  Enroll today!  We'd be happy to serve you!

Today’s Special Occasion: Boss’s Day

It's October 16, and today is Boss's Day.  The first boss of American School was R.T. Miller.  He founded American School in 1897 and remained with us until 1945.  Since that time, only a few people have followed in R.T. Miller's footsteps and become American School President.  Valerie Riley currently holds that office, and she, like all American School employees, are dedicated to offering our students the best accredited paper-based and online high school courses and paper-based and online middle school courses.  Take them individually for enrichment or through our independent study programs, or take them collectively and earn a high school diploma at home.  Valerie and the rest of us are happy to serve you!
