It’s April 23, and on this date in 1635, the first public school in the United States opened. The Boston Latin School is nearly 400 years old and remains in operation to this day. Although American School does not endorse any public school specifically, we are happy to work with public schools across the country through our independent study high school program. Public high school students can take our paper-based high school courses or online high school courses for credit recovery or enrichment purposes. Those students and their counselors will have access to the online student center or online counselor office, where they can view grades and other academic records and receive assistance as needed. Whether you attend a public school founded nearly 400 years ago or one that just opened last year, we look forward to serving you if you need our courses to help you graduate.
