Today’s Anniversary: The Signing of the Declaration of Independence

It's August 2, and the Declaration of Independence was signed on this date in 1776.  We know what you're thinking.  You thought the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4.  Actually the document was ratified on July 4 but not formally signed until August 2.  Today's occasion has us thinking about the signatures we ask from you during your time with American School.  Obviously it's hard to produce actual signatures if someone enrolls online or takes online high school courses or online middle school courses, so the following statements are more for people taking middle school or high school correspondence courses with us.  We ask that you sign your name on your enrollment application and, if you're younger than 18 years old, have a parent or guardian or school official sign your application as well.  You should also sign your name on every page of every exam you send us.  That way your exams won't get lost or separated.  For our part, we look forward to signing important documents such as transcripts or diplomas which prove that you have completed your studies with us.  Enroll and sign your application to get started today!
