It’s June 8, and architect Frank Lloyd Wright was born on this date in 1867. One of his most famous buildings is Robie House on the campus of the University of Chicago. It is a prime example of the Prairie School type of architecture that some describe as the first uniquely American architectural style. Robie House is a landmark building on the University of Chicago campus, but the campus is home to other landmarks as well, including American School’s home from 1907 to 1996. The four-story brick building still stands today, surrounded by modern medical facilities, and is a testimony to American School’s 124 years of credibility. While we were located in Hyde Park, we served students in our accredited high school program and independent study high school program strictly through high school correspondence courses. Today we have those services plus an accredited middle school program. In addition, we offer online courses and online exams to suit students’ needs. Robie House and our previous home are classic buildings, but American School continues to evolve. Enroll today and be part of our long and glorious history and bright and exciting future.
