It's June 8, and architect Frank Lloyd Wright was born on this date in 1867. Although he designed a variety of structures, including churches, skyscrapers, hotels, museums such as the Guggenheim in New York City and perhaps even doghouses, he is best known for designing unique homes such as Fallingwater. Often his buildings would have a sense of unity and harmony with their surroundings. He called this philosophy organic architecture. His most famous style of architecture was called the Prairie Style, and a prime example of this style is Robie House, which is located just blocks away from the American School's former headquarters in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood.
