It’s February 22, and George Washington was born on this date in 1732. He was the first President of the United States and is often considered to be the father of our country, and so today is a great day to talk about the first President of American School and the person who is often considered to be the father of American School. His name was R.T. Miller, and he and several colleagues founded American School in 1897 in Boston. We moved to Chicago a few years later, and R.T. Miller remained as American School President until 1945. He believed that people should have the opportunity to receive a quality education no matter what their life circumstances are, and those of us who lead the School today believe the same things. That why we offer accredited middle school courses and accredited high school courses at an affordable cost. We also believe students should work when and where it is convenient for them, so that is why we allow students to enroll anytime and work at their own pace. Help us continue R.T. Miller’s legacy by enrolling and making us your distance education middle school or distance education high school. We look forward to having you as our student.
