It's December 10, and British actor Sir Kenneth Branagh turns 52 years old today. He is perhaps best-known for his work in film versions of plays written by William Shakespeare, including Henry V, Much Ado About Nothing, Othello, Hamlet, Love's Labour Lost and As You Like It. The American School has two courses that require students to read plays by Shakespeare. They are British Literature and English 4: Selected English Classics. Both courses come with CDs that contain professional actors reading various scenes from the assigned Shakespeare plays. We include those CDs because we know hearing Shakespeare can help students more effectively read Shakespeare. It's another example of our caring student service and doing whatever we can to assist students as they work toward their accredited high school diploma. Be sure to check this blog later in the week when we'll post about another American School book coming to the silver screen!
