Today’s Birthday: Zora Neale Hurston

It's January 7, and author Zora Neale Hurston was born on this date in 1891.  The American School, in our English courses, tries to introduce students to authors with a variety of backgrounds.  Zora Neale Hurston certainly lived a unique life.  She was a female author who wrote during the time of the Harlem Renaissance.  She is perhaps best-known for writing Their Eyes Were Watching God, but besides being a writer, she was also an anthropologist and spent time in Honduras and Central America perfecting that craft.  When you enroll and become an American School student, you'll read and analyze the works of authors like Zora Neale Hurston, and you'll learn writing skills that will benefit you for years to come.
