Today’s Anniversary: PBS

It's October 5, and today the Public Broadcasting Service, more commonly known as PBS, celebrates its 50th anniversary.  Over the years many shows on PBS have educated viewers.  These include Sesame Street, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, Reading Rainbow and Square One Television for school-aged children as well as numerous specials and documentaties about science, history and more for high schoolers and adults.  Many times over the years this blog has mentioned finding ways to enhance your accredited middle school program and accredited high school program.  If you're interested in a particular topic or subject, see if PBS has a show about it.  You may find that you learn something new from it, but you also might discover that you knew some of the show's information because you studied it in the accredited high school courses or middle school courses you took from American School!
