It’s August 20, and Benjamin Harrison was born on this date in 1833. He was the 23rd President of the United States and has the rare distinction of being preceded and succeeded by the same man, Grover Cleveland, who was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States. Although Benjamin Harrison is often forgotten, his home in Indianapolis still stands and is a good place to visit if you’re interested in history. Often in this blog we recommend visiting presidential homes and libraries as a way of making your middle school courses and high school courses come to life, and today we are doing that again. Presidential homes and libraries are scattered throughout the country, so it’s likely there’s one not too far from where you live. If not, perhaps you can visit one on a future vacation. Thank you for making us your distance education middle school or distance education high school, and keep checking this blog often to see what historic site we’ll recommend next.
