It’s June 14, and today is Flag Day. On this date in 1777 the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution that officially adopted the flag of the United States. More than a century later in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed June 14 as Flag Day, and in 1949 an Act of Congress established National Flag Day. We are proud to include the word “American” in our name and fly the American flag outside our building when weather conditions allow. We are also proud of the fact that more than 3 million students have made us their distance education middle school or distance education high school. They come from all 50 states represented by stars on the flag and from more than 65 countries around the world. Some might take accredited middle school courses and others might take accredited high school courses, but the common bond is that they all want to further their educations and create better lives for themselves and their families. Join them and become a star by enrolling with American School today!
