It’s September 29, and tomorrow evening CBS will air a two-hour special celebrating 50 years of The Price is Right.  Bob Barker hosted the show for its first 35 years, and Drew Carey has hosted for the last 15 years.  When Bob Barker retired in 2007, we did a whole week of blogs related to The Price is Right, highlighting some of our favorite pricing games and how they relate to American School.   To celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary, we’re going to slip the names of some pricing games into this blog, which will contain general information about American School.  Pay attention, play along and try to find all of them.  We apologize in advance for not including Cliff Hangers, Plinko or Hole-in-One, but not even the most experienced blog writer or fan of The Price is Right could weave the names of those games into today’s blog!

American School became a leader in distance education in 1897, and we have served more than 3 million students in our 124-year history.  We know that the enrollment process and selecting the right courses can make people go bonkers, so we make enrolling as easy as 1-2-3.  We have printable enrollment applications as well as online enrollment applications complete with a simple check out process for your convenience.   Students like that they can take any number of courses with us, from core subjects such as English, math, science and social studies, to electives such as business, career and technical education, fine arts and world languages.  Some students enroll in full years of an accredited middle school program or accredited high school program, while others take individual subjects for credit recovery or enrichment.  The magic number of credits needed to graduate and earn a high school diploma at home from American School is 20, but no matter how many subjects students take, our staff will keep them focused on hitting the bullseye and finishing their subjects on time.  Students also like the ability to work at their own pace, and we allow them to enroll or graduate anytime, which makes coming or going as stress-free as possible.  American School also knows that cost is a consideration for students and their families, and our status as a non-profit school helps us from charging a danger price for our courses which would damage a household’s budget.  When you do the math, you’ll realize that American School’s tuition, which includes all study materials, grading, access to the online student center and more, is really the one right price for you and your family.  We also boast more than century of credibility, so you don’t have to worry about being the victim of a shell game as an American School student.  American School is accredited by MSA-CESS, Ai and NCPSA, and recognized by the ISBE as a non-public school.  We encourage you to make your move and enroll today.  You’ll head down the golden road to success in life as an American School graduate, and all of us would be happy to serve you.

Homeschooling has taught me a lot of new things.  It has taught me self-discipline and made me take my studies more seriously than before.  I have learned to study properly.  The books and materials were very helpful.  It is a fun experience to do homeschooling.  Many people are amazed to know that I did homeschooling.  This has opened and changed a lot of people’s minds.

American School has more to offer than any public school.  Two of my children, two of my grandchildren, and one niece completed their high school education with American School, and my sister and I are enrolled at the present time.

– Marilyn from Missouri

I learned a lot, and the skills are helping me in my college classes.

The most important thing I learned was how to schedule my time and organize my work.  The study guides helped to show me how much work to do at one time.  I’m glad to be part of American School.

– Peter from Illinois

I have found the methods, instruction, textbooks, study guides and service satisfactory because they are all up-to-date and made ready for me to learn.  I am greatly thankful for this service because now I can graduate early with all my credits in.  Thank you very much, American School!

– Ada from Michigan

American School was an easy yet efficient way to earn the extra credit I needed to graduate.

– Elizabeth from Illinois

I greatly enjoyed American School.  The instructors’ comments were very helpful.  I enjoyed this method of learning.  I feel I have learned a lot more than I did in public school.  I was able to keep up with school through all the moves I made without going through the hassle of switching school systems.  I enjoyed the honesty of the

instructors and the overall program.   I will recommend American School to anyone interested.
