It’s April 7, and the United Nations established the World Health Organization on this date in 1948.  The World Health Organization, often abbreviated WHO, has been in the news more than usual during the last 2 years during the pandemic, but the 74th anniversary of its establishment got us thinking about how health affects American School students.  Sometimes students enroll in our accredited middle school program, accredited high school program or independent study program because they missed periods of time at residential schools.  They can take our courses to get caught up with their credits.  Other students might have to pause their studies with us due to health reasons.  For students in the latter group, we ask that you let us know basic information about your health situation so that we know that is why you might not be submitting work on a regular basis.  No detailed explanation is needed, but we do want to show our concern for you and do everything we can to keep you on track.  In rare cases extensions are available for students who cannot finish their courses on time due to health reasons.  Thank you for your understanding and for allowing us to serve you.
