It’s February 6, and Massachusetts became a state on this date in 1788. Massachusetts has a special place in our heart because it is our home state. R.T. Miller and his friends founded American School there in 1897, and Massachusetts was our home for a few years before we moved to Chicago in the early 1900s. Massachusetts is known for many things, including its professional sports teams which reside in or near Boston. The Boston Red Sox had a very long World Series title drought from 1918 to 2004 but won the World Series in 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2018. Those titles were part of a run that included titles for the Boston Bruins on the ice, the Boston Celtics on the hardwood, and six titles for the New England Patriots on the gridiron. We mention these facts because we want our students to be part of a championship team here at American School. Perhaps you’re in an educational drought, so to speak, and have been out of high school for awhile but have yet to earn an accredited high school diploma. American School welcomes students of all ages from Massachusetts and 49 other states, and most credits earned at an accredited high school will transfer to us and count toward the 20 units of credit needed to earn an online high school diploma or correspondence high school diploma. No drought is too long to overcome, and your well-earned diploma will be something even better than a championship trophy. Enroll today!
