Today we begin a three-part series of blogs designed to educate readers on the differences between three distinct educational documents—the progress report, the transcript and the diploma. At first, people might think that all three documents contain the same information and may be used interchangeably, but that is not the case. It is our hope that, by reading the blogs that begin today and continue through the rest of the week, people will become more familiar with what each document is and which document they should request if they contact us for a specific purpose. We will begin with the progress report, which is an unofficial document showing a student’s progress at a specific moment in time. Progress reports are available for students in our accredited middle school program, accredited high school program or independent study program and will list courses and grades completed at the time the progress report was requested. Progress reports are similar to report cards and are unofficial, which means that they do not contain the School seal and are not accepted by other schools if other schools need official documentation. Progress reports are similar to report cards and may be requested free of charge anytime by looking in the Online Student Center or by contacting our Student Service Department. Thank you for your understanding, and please come back tomorrow to learn more about transcripts.
