Today’s blog is about graduation ceremonies.  Occasionally people will ask us if we have a graduation ceremony for those students who earn American School’s accredited high school diploma.  The answer is that we do not and there are a couple reasons why.  First, we believe that students should work at their own pace when taking our accredited high school courses, and that freedom gives students the opportunity to graduate early if they so choose.  We do not want to prevent them from moving on to the next phases of their lives, and so we send their diplomas shortly after they graduate.  Second, we serve homeschool families from across the country, and logistically it is difficult for most of them to come to our headquarters near Chicago.  Thank you for your understanding and please know that we look forward to the day when we can count you as an American School graduate!
