Today’s blog is about summer school classes. Many students who attend resident high schools wish to take a course or two with us through our independent study high school program during the summer and ask us when the enrollment period opens and how long our summer school courses will take to complete. The reality is that American School does not offer classes strictly designed for summer school. Instead we accept enrollments into our individual online high school courses or high school correspondence courses year-round, meaning that students can enroll anytime. In addition, our courses always have the same amount of time for completion—6 months for a semester course or 12 months for a full-year course—though students may finish before those deadlines because they are working at their own pace. If you are planning to take a course or two this summer for credit recovery or enrichment purposes we recommend enrolling as quickly as possible. Doing so will give you adequate time to complete your studies before the next academic year begins. We look forward to serving you.
