Today’s blog is about Individualized Educational Programs, often abbreviated as IEPs. Many times children who have IEPs and their families are interested in our accredited middle school program or accredited high school program. Those students and their families want to know if American School will make any special accommodations because they have IEPs. The answer to that question is complex. We treat students as individuals from the moment they enroll until the moment they graduate, but we do require them to complete all assignments, exams and projects in all courses. The biggest accommodation we make for students who have had IEPs is allowing them to work at their own pace in all of their courses. We also stand ready to provide assistance whenever needed. If you have specific questions about IEPs, we invite you to email us. We will reply within one business day as is our policy. Thank you for considering us as your distance education high school or middle school.
