American School will be closed Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day. As we have written many times before, we are proud to include the word “American” in our name. One of the main reasons why we are proud is the fact that so many Americans over the years have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep the United States of America a free country. Because of the sacrifices of the men and women we remember on Memorial Day, the United States of America is able to offer a variety of educational systems, including homeschooling. Students in our accredited middle school program and accredited high school program complete full years of study and ultimately earn a high school diploma at home. Other students take individual courses for enrichment or as part of an independent study high school program. The theme of freedom extends to our course delivery methods. Students have the freedom to choose between print and online courses and learn in a way that is most comfortable to them. Finally, all of our students have the freedom to work at their own pace and on their own schedule, whenever and wherever is convenient for them. We thank all veterans, but especially on Memorial Day weekend those who lost their lives defending freedom, and we thank all of you for reading our blog. Check back Tuesday for our next post.
