Last week the American Red Cross visited American School and provided updated training in adult first aid, CPR and AED to several staff members. We welcome the American Red Cross every two years to train staff members throughout the building so that they are ready to respond in case of an emergency. Even though we do not see our homeschooling students in person, it is important that our employees know how to respond in case of various emergencies, and this training helps our staff do that. If you are interested in learning more about first aid yourself, consider taking our online First Aid and Safety course. It’s one of many online high school courses in our curriculum that may be taken as part of an accredited high school diploma program or an independent study program. You’ll earn one half-unit of credit but perhaps more importantly you’ll learn how to respond quickly and safely in case of an emergency. Thank you to the American Red Cross for keeping our staff safe, and thank you to our students for allowing us to serve you.
