Today’s blog is going to celebrate American School founder R.T. Miller, who was born on February 23, 1867.  American School’s 100th anniversary book says “R.T. was an educational pioneer of his day.  In an age when a college education was primarily for the wealthy, technical schools were virtually non-existent and grade school completion was the exception, R.T. wanted to expand educational opportunities.  His idea was to make vocational and technical training more available for more Americans by offering correspondence courses.  The validity of his idea was so convincing, his employer gave him the financial backing he needed, and American School was born.”  More than 150  years after his birth, those of us at the school he founded are still interested in expanding educational opportunities.  We do it through print and online middle school courses and print and online high school courses, any of which may be taken anytime and studied anywhere and always at the student’s own pace.  We’d like to think that R.T. Miller would be very proud that more than 3 million people have made American School their school of choice, but there’s always room for more.  Enroll today and take middle school at home or high school at home with a leader in distance education since 1897.  We look forward to serving you!
