It’s June 14, and today is Flag Day.  The United States flag has a long and storied history, and a central figure in that history is Betsy Ross, who according to legend sewed the very first American flag.  If you’re ever in Philadelphia, consider visiting the Betsy Ross House.  On your visit you’ll learn about Betsy Ross and see historical reenactments about her life and the flag.  Visiting historic sites is a great way to make your online high school courses or paper-based high school courses come to life, and even if you’re not near Philadelphia, there are probably some historic sites close to your home which you may wish to visit today or this weekend to celebrate Flag Day.  Thank you for making us your distance education high school!
