It’s October 15, and tomorrow is National Boss’s Day. American School has had eight presidents or bosses in its 124-year history. The first was R.T. Miller, who founded American School and served as president for 48 years. The most recent is Valerie J. Riley, who has been president since 2017. All of our presidents have brought different backgrounds, experiences and skills to the job, and all of them have faced changes and challenges which have caused the School to adapt and move forward. For example, early presidents introduced a credit recovery program for students who attend traditional schools and need to make up credits in order to graduate. Recent presidents, on the other hand, have introduced an online high school diploma program and an accredited middle school program consisting of online middle school courses and paper-based middle school courses. No matter the times, all American School presidents have done their best to serve our students, and our employees follow their lead. We would appreciate the opportunity to serve you as well. Enroll today and make us your distance education middle school or distance education high school. Doing so would make our boss and the rest of us happy!
