Ethnic Studies explores the history, culture, and experiences of different ethnic and racial groups. This half-unit course looks at the lives of Indigenous peoples, African Americans, Latin Americans, and Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States. By studying the experiences of people in these groups, students will develop a deeper understanding of their contributions, struggles, and achievements.
Students will explore the effects of historical as well as current laws and policies, learn about the ways in which these groups have shaped and contributed to society, and explore the obstacles groups have faced while working to gain citizenship and equality.
There are 5 units in Ethnic Studies.
