Description
Understanding English 1 gives students an in-depth knowledge of how sentences are organized. Through this knowledge, students learn to recognize and use good sentences. Students learn sentence types, parts of speech, punctuation, verb forms, phrases, clauses, conjunctions, and the diagramming of sentences.
In completing this subject, students do activities such as writing original examples of types of sentences and writing well-organized, focused paragraphs on a wide variety of topics with sufficient detail to engage the reader. Students should proofread their work before submission.
