It’s August 26, and we are using today’s blog to remember Dolly Parton, who died yesterday at age 80. Many people know her as an entertainer, but Dolly Parton was also a great philanthropist. One of her philanthropic endeavors was Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library which has promoted literacy in five countries to the tune of donating more than 300 million books to children to help them improve their reading skills. We’d like to think that homeschooling students have benefitted from Dolly’s generosity, and perhaps students who are in our accredited middle school program or accredited high school program are among them.
