It’s December 1, and earlier this week funeral services were held for Rosalynn Carter. She was the wife of President Jimmy Carter and served as First Lady from 1977-1981. While American School is always politically neutral, we’ve always encouraged students to visit presidential libraries and museums to make their at home middle school courses and at home high school courses come to life. Several years ago, two American School employees had the opportunity to visit the Carter Center and Jimmy Carter Presidential Library while on business in Atlanta. The museum provides a first-hand look at what was happening in the country and the world during Jimmy Carter’s presidency and explained the humanitarian work Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter did after leaving Washington and returning to their hometown of Plains, Georgia. If you can’t make it to Atlanta, you may click on the links in this blog to learn more about Rosalynn Carter and her legacy. Thank you for making us your distance education middle school or distance education high school.
