It’s June 1, and Kentucky became a state on this date in 1792. Four years later, Tennessee followed suit became a state on this date in 1796. Having two states celebrate their statehood anniversaries on the same day is a good occasion to remind you that states can have different high school graduation requirements. Since we are based in Illinois, we follow graduation requirements put forth by the Illinois State Board of Education. Students in our high school diploma program must take an appropriate number of courses to fulfill Illinois graduation requirements whether they live in Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee or any of the 47 other states. Fortunately we have plenty of accredited high school courses in print and online formats to fulfill those graduation requirements and allow students to take electives which interest them. Explore our web site and then enroll. We look forward to helping you earn a high school diploma at home as our homeschool student!
