It’s September 15, and on this date in 1998, the person who regularly writes this blog began working at American School. To say that a lot has changed in 23 years would be an understatement. Back in 1998 we only had paper-based high school courses for students in grades 9-12, but in the years since we’ve added countless online high school courses. We also introduced online middle school courses and paper-based middle school courses so that we could serve students in grades 6-8. The changes don’t stop there. American School’s web site has been updated several times, most recently in February 2021, and in 2006 the web site began featuring this blog that you’re reading right now. Finally, the last 23 years have seen many employees come and go, as would be the case at any school or business, but the one common thread going back to American School’s founding in 1897 is a commitment to education and serving students in all types of situations. A student’s race, gender, creed, location or economic situation have no impact on our willingness to serve him or her, and no matter what the next 23 years bring, that will not change. September 15 is a great day to start something new with American School, so if you are not yet our student, we invite you to enroll today. All of us would be happy to serve you.
