It’s September 9, and California became a state on this day in 1850.  California’s state motto is “Eureka” and sometimes that word is used as an exclamation when a person has a sudden realization or finally solves a long-standing problem.  That word got us thinking about a reaction a student might have when achieving success in one of our homeschool courses.  Our middle school courses and high school courses are written to standards, and it is unrealistic to think that every concept will come easy to any individual student.  American School students work hard to master certain concepts, but when they do, they may say “eureka” after something clicks and a concept is mastered.  We are proud to support our students in California and the other 50 states as they put in the hard work needed to earn a high school diploma at home.  Join them by enrolling today!
