It’s November 13, and the Disney musical Fantasia was released on this date in 1940. The film is a series of eight animated scenes set to different pieces of classical music, and that got us thinking about music here at American School. Sometimes people will ask us if we have band or choir classes, and the answer is no. It is difficult for us to have a band or choir because many of our students are homeschooling with us and live all over the United States. We do offer a pair of courses among our online high school courses which may appeal to homeschool students who have an interest in music and the performing arts. Music Appreciation and Theater, Cinema and Film Production would be fine additions to an accredited high school program or independent study program, and we accept enrollments any time.
