It’s December 3, and Illinois became a state on this date in 1818. Illinois is special to us because it’s been our home state for nearly 125 years. We were founded in Massachusetts in 1897 but moved to Illinois shortly after the turn of the century when the Armour Institute (currently the Illinois Institute of Technology) invited us to move our operations to the Land of Lincoln. Although we are based in Illinois and follow graduation requirements and other guidelines put forth by the Illinois State Board of Education, we are happy to serve homeschooling students in all 50 states. Some of them take our accredited middle school courses, while others take our accredited high school courses. Some of them enroll in an entire grade level of courses, while others enroll in just one course for credit recovery or enrichment.
